Motivational Monday-The Right Time

Time…

It might be safe to say that time is our worst enemy- we’re always waiting for Mr. Right Time. Ohh yes, the waiting game. waiting for this or that, waiting for the…. right time.
Sorry folks, if you’re waiting for the right time, it’ll never come. There’s always something to go wrong, something else you have to get done. There will always be something that needs your attention.
Need some motivation to start your week off? Just remember: "Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along." -George Herbert

Don’t Be One of Those People

One of those people waiting for the right time with a list of things to do, but making excuse to not do them. The world is full of people, who don’t know what they want. Even if they know what they want, they’re too afraid to go for it. It’s soooo sad! I often wonder, if I would rather be someone who just has no goals, instead of one always working toward a goal that seems impossible. As frustrating as the latter is, I can honestly say that I couldn’t handle being the former. I remember being in college and not really having any dreams other than finishing school. It was such a sad life. I was bored.
Now I wish I would have been working on some of these goals while in school because I’d be a lot further in accomplishing them. But you know why I didn’t? Because it wasn’t the right time. I was in school and didn’t have time. I was just a student and didn’t know anything. I didn’t have the right equipment. But I had make it the right time. I had to start small and work my up, getting better equipment as I went.
About nine months after I graduated, I finally started on my dream to make a documentary on how to reduce, reuse and recycle in Stillwater. I can tell you it wasn’t the right time then either. Almost two years later and I’m still not done, but at least I’m working on it. I’m not letting the excuse get in my way. It didn’t fall into place like I thought, it didn’t get easier, but here I am still trudging along. ONE day, I will have it finished and it will be sooner this way then never having started at all.

Say Good-Bye to Excuses

I let fear get in my way a lot. Fear that I won’t have the help I need. Fear that I won’t get the results I wanted. And my fears come to fruition every single time. I’m a perfectionist and really it KILLS me that I don’t get the results I wanted, but I learn good lessons every time. Each time I learn to be satisfied with what I’ve accomplished because I know many people don’t try at all. But I never have to wonder what could have been. I just do my best and let God do the rest. As a result, I get more done than I ever could have not doing anything at all.
I might not have my prayers answered and find a partner in life that can help me accomplish all the things I want. But I can’t let that stop me from accomplishing anything with my life. The right time for me is now. Failure is always my biggest fear, but each time I mange to conquer it. Instead of letting myself live in fear, I do that thing anyway. I fail a lot, but I’m starting to learn it’s not such a big deal. You just learn and go on to do something else.

Make the Right Time

Think about it. What do you want to do and what’s holding you back? If it’s fear, then kick it in the head. Fear hates nothing more than proving it wrong. It’s hard at first. I know it and even still it takes me quite a while to get my nerve, but when I do and I fail, it’s like no big deal. I just move on. I find something easy to do to help me get back on track then I get after it.  You might not succeed at first, but the sooner you start, the sooner you will find something that works for you.

  1. This is so true, Kayla! We always sit around waiting for the right time, but we don’t work at it like we should, and then we find ourselves frustrated because the “right time hasn’t come”. But sometimes, the time hasn’t come because we haven’t put the work in. I am proud of you and am glad for you reminding me of this truth!
