I love this quote and it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” -Mother Teresa
When trying to make positive change in the world, it’s important to remember that you’re not responsible for all of it.
God gives us each a talent and our only job is to use that passion to better the world. There are so many issues in the world, and sometimes it seems overwhelmingly impossible, but if each person would do little pieces, contributing their talent, then some of those gaping holes would morph into a beautiful picture.
Sometimes people have a habit of blaming God for the world’s problems, but it’s the people, who are not stepping up to fulfill their calling that are creating the problems and letting them go on. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all these other problems, but our only job is to take care of our other little pieces and God will bless our work to take care of the rest. If we take on more than we are meant to, it can actually do more harm than good.
As you start to follow where you feel the pull, you will find others working towards the same goal and will start to see progress towards the big picture. You will find strength and courage for things you would have never thought possible.
The only other thing we can do is to encourage our fellow little pieces. If we see others struggling to do as they are called, we need to pray that God will give them strength to do what they are called for, to lift them up when they feel down and to help them to not feel alone. So many little pieces get lost, but if we could just encourage others that would happen less and less.
It’s hard to see now, but give it a little time and patience and you will see it start to come together. So please, little pieces, don’t be discouraged, you are part of a beautiful picture.
