Upcycled garden hose make a great wreath structure! For those who don’t know, my mom is extremely passionate about gardening, so when my aunt wanted to make these hose wreaths, I knew it was the perfect Mother’s Day gift, but really it can also be gifted any time of the year. If you’re making it in the fall, instead of using spring pinks and purples, use faux fall leaves and sunflowers. It’s a perfect gift for the gardener in your life.

Upcycled Garden Hose DIY Wreath

Hoses break for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes its the heat, in other cases, like mine, it might be someone ran it over with in the lawn mower. In any case, hoses are not recyclable, so what’s a green girl to do? Well make it into a upcycled garden hose wreath, of course.

Upcycled Hose Spring Flower Burlap Wreath Decorations

So to start, get your hose ready. You can either use the whole thing or just a piece. Start with a loop the size you want (If it’s a heavy duty hose, you can wrap a piece of wire so it stays put) and then just keep looping until you have the size of wreath you want.

Once you have your wires wrapped around to hold the wreath in the shape you want, wrap burlap around the hose. Glue it in several spots to make sure it holds. Also use something like a pipe cleaner or zip tie to hold the glue while it dries.

Wrap a looped wire around the middle of the top part to use a hanger.

Then add your butterflies, flowers and other greenery as you see fit.

Although I only made one with burlap and a couple of flowers, Miss Kopy Kat goes into great detail about all kinds of ways you can make it.

Once the glue is dry, take off the zip ties and you’ve got yourself an upcycled hose wreath!

  1. Cute! It’s always fun to make more unique versions of things- like this. Wreaths are typically made with a wreath form, but this takes something old and makes an awesome “replacement” form. Great idea!!!!

    1. Haha, thank you so much. I really like the color of the burlap, so I covered most of the hose up, but some people left it more open and obvious.
