I had the honor of being able to read this book Zero to Hero Nutrition: How to Actually Get Kids to Eat Healthy and today I’m going give my feedback.
Although, this is such a difficult and important issue, you rarely find any information on it. Why is it important to feed your kids healthy foods? Why does food matter? How can we get our kids to eat healthy when sometimes they don’t want to eat at all? This book answers all these questions and more! It’s seven chapters filled with tips and tricks from someone who as actually spent their time with kids and not in a lab or 15 minutes with them in a room.
Real Life Experiences
Zero to Hero Nutrition: How to Actually Get Kids to Eat Healthy shows the benefits of Christina’s real life experience in this book. She has spent 25 plus years working with kids and helping them form healthy eating habits. She addresses everything from why food matters, ways to start small in introducing new foods, portion sizes and how connecting kids with their foods is essential to actually getting them to eat it, plus many ways to actually do it. At the end she gives her tried and true recipes, which are so easy even your kids can help. These recipes include alternatives to family favorite such as hamburger helper, tacos, sauces and breakfasts.
If you’ve tried to help your kids form healthy eating habits in the past, but feel like you’re falling short, this book is for you. It’s definitely overwhelming, but this book breaks it down into doable steps. At the end of the book you’ll find four weeks of Zero to Hero Nutrition Menu Plans and Shopping Lists, plus instructions to ease you into changing your family’s diet for the better. She breaks this up for a time period of 8 weeks, so you don’t have to change it all once.
