Good News

So I have some good news and some good news. I’ll start with the good news.Sunshine

Part of my documentary will feature the idea of precycling- the practice of seeking to reduce consumer waste by buying unpackaged, reusable, or recyclable products, using one’s own bags, etc. This step happens at the grocery store, so of course I wanted to go to a grocery store and go over the various options people have for precycling. In our town we have quite a few options for grocery stores but all of them were saying no or not getting back to me. I was starting to get discouraged. Eventually I started making my way through the list of people, who said maybe but had to get permission from the district offices. They didn’t ever contact me back, but when I contacted Food Pyramid again, they said ‘oh yeah, sure that’s fine.’ Well, thanks for telling me! Oh well, at least that is one more thing I can check off my list.

My other good news is I am working with Ally from the TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) Raiders to give a comprehensive video for her group. They are dedicated helping students and young adults who have a Traumatic Brain Injury succeed at their dreams in both school and life. They also to work to educate people with and without brain injuries to reduce misconceptions and support those impacted by TBIs.

They focus on helping in the areas of Education, Self-Advocacy, Leadership, Job Readiness and Political Representation.

It is an organization based in Stillwater working on getting their 501c3.

Here is a link to the their Facebook and their website where you can learn more about their organization and how you can help. I am meeting will be doing the interview portion of TBI’s video today and I will update as we go along.
